Original cover painting by Wendy Pini, large, 1989. A true masterpiece.

Description:
Wendy Pini: "Elfquest: Wolfriders", original painting, 1989.

An original painting by Wendy Pini made for "Elfquest: Wolfriders 1990 Calendar" Cover Original Art (Warp Graphics, 1990). This exquisite full-color painting by Wendy Pini is a stunning achievement in her long list of professional works. Originally created as a personal project to try her hand at a lusher, more fully-painted look with alkyds, this sumptuous painting eventually became the cover art for Warp Graphics' Elfquest: Wolfriders 1990 Calendar. Wendy modified the swordswoman in the original work into an absolutely unforgettable grown up version of Cutter's daughter, Ember. A fitting image for Warp Graphics' first published calendar's cover! The emerald greens, deep blues, salmons and mossy green colored mists hanging above the swamp, are juxtaposed against the brilliant sheen of Ember's white horse and glittering armor, giving credence to Wendy Pini's mastery with a brush and paint. This unforgettable display of pure, unrestrained talent truly has to be seen to be believed!

The art measures 17.5" x 24" and is in Excellent condition.

From the collection of Richard and Wendy Pini.
